Daniel Cook & The Radiators have been entertaining audiences since 2006 with their highly engaging performances, exceptional songwriting, polished musicianship and down-to-earth delivery.
Norm McPherson (lead guitar and background vocals), Ryan Rock (bass guitar and background vocals) and Mike O’Leary (drums) are lifelong musical artists dedicated to their craft. Alongside Daniel Cook (lead vocals, guitar and songwriting), this talented group is grateful to live, work and play on Coast Salish territory. Their deeply rooted West Coast sound is an eclectic blend of folk, funk and country roots music.
This seasoned band blends finger-style folk, bass-driven funk, tender ballads, reggae and rock, all rooted in country vibes, leaving audiences captivated. With sophistication and sensitivity, they combine a sweet mix of vocal harmonies and tasty solos into extraordinary heartfelt and memorable performances. Daniel Cook & The Radiators are, without exception, an original band to see and hear live!
‘Full Contact Folk’ best describes what The Ecclestons bring to the stage.
After fourteen years together as a band touring all over Western Canada and the US,
siblings Colleen (guitar and vocals) Kelt (bass, penny whistle, and vocals) and adopted brother Greg Madill (bouzouki, mandolin, bodhran and vocals) have been busy doing their solo projects for the last few years.
Known for their infectious humour, joyfulness, and harmony, this Victoria based band has a massive Celtic and Canadian repertoire alongside solid songwriting tackling everything from ‘bombs falling from the sky’ to the fires raging in Alberta and Montana, to siren’s song and dancing outside on a summer night.
Growing up in the nomadic tradition of University and Air force brats they have lived all across Canada and beyond bringing a deep worldliness to what they do.
Past winners of ‘The Best Live Act on Vancouver Island’ MPower Award, they are back with new songs and it feels great to be playing together again!
Black Angus is about good friends, good humour, and good songs. Their enthusiastic performances take listeners from Vancouver Island to Ireland and back again, fueled by collaboration, innovation, and a sheer enjoyment of what they do.
Black Angus offers a variety of material from foot-stomping folk songs to poignant lyrical poetry. Their variety of ensembles, centred around the duo of Gareth Hurwood and Alex MacCuaig, offer great stage presence and a camaraderie that is instantly communicated to audiences. Black Angus is devoted to the authenticity of “good songs” that speak to their artistic hearts, and is near-impossible to pigeon-hole: traditional & contemporary Irish, acoustic roots, Americana, West Coast Celtic, blues, and old-time are all part of the Black Angus sound.
